Family Maternity & Newborn Photography
London has always held a special place in my heart. It’s where my journey with photography truly began, and all these years later, it still feels like a city full of quiet magic. Beyond the busy streets, it’s a patchwork of hidden gardens, beautifully wild corners, and peaceful pockets that feel a world away from the capital.
Having lived in London for eight years, I’ve been lucky enough to explore it in so many ways. Each time I stumble across a new tucked-away spot, it still gives me that same little spark of excitement, and I love nothing more than sharing those hidden gems with the families I photograph.
My London location photoshoots are designed to feel like an experience rather than a session. It’s about slowing down, enjoying time together, and letting moments unfold naturally while I gently capture the connection your family has and the laughter that happens. The result is a collection of images that feel full of life and authentically real to you guys.
We’ll roll in the grass, run with the breeze through our hair, and laugh our way through golden patches of light. There’s no pressure, no stiffness, just space to be yourselves, to play and to connect, all whilst I capture it forever.
LONDON PHOTOSHOOT LOCATIONS
We can keep things simple. The locations I have found are just that, simply beautiful. They provide us with a backdrop for your family to settle into, for you to live out your memories whilst I capture it all. They have been specifically chosen due to their depth of background, and stunning light. Whether we are running through the ancient stone corridors of Hampstead Pergola, or hiding behind the tall grasses of Dulwich Park, the beauty we have offered to us is just incredible. Whatever location you choose, you'll have not only great photographs that capture your family, but art that you'll want to display on the walls of your home. There's so much to choose from, but here are my favourites for the best photos:
MY TOP 5 FAVOURITE LONDON PHOTOSHOOT LOCATIONS
1. HAMPSTEAD HEATH
It's famous for its beautiful hillside and natural swimming ponds and so it should be. Hampstead Heath has my heart, forever. It is just simply, stunning. Whether you opt for the woodland, the hillside or the Pergola, I have a few special spots that I have located that catch the light, offer the most amazing surroundings and are perfect year round.
2. DULWICH PARK
My very first photoshoot happened here. Since then, I have scoured the park for the best little areas, places where your little ones can explore, can run, can hide, can freely enjoy the surroundings. In the Spring, the daffodils are left to bloom along with the wildflowers and we are gifted with beautiful meadow-like areas. In the Summer, the grass is left to reach heights that make you dizzy, and anywhere where long grass grows, I go. Autumn brings with it an unbeatable light, and a paintbox splash of colour in and amongst the array of trees. We'll meet near the cafe, which boasts some of the best coffee I've had.
3. HILLY FIELDS
A little secret spot, hidden away from the noise of the park. I stumbled on it by chance and I am so glad I did, the light hits it perfectly and it reminds me of a little garden from a child's storybook. In the summer the evenings are lazy and a golden haze of setting summer sun. There is on street parking nearby, making it easy access, with a cafe just up the hill.
4. REGENTS PARK
Known by most, Regent's Park sits in the heart of the city. It's large, it's bold, it's beautiful. It's worth going to just to walk around and take in the surroundings. I've got three spots here which I know and love for different reasons. Think: rolling grass, sun glittering in from the trees, a little Japanese bridge across a small river and a drooping tree, perfect for hiding in.
5. CLAPHAM COMMON WILD FLOWER MEADOW
Storybook visions come to life in Clapham's wildflower meadow. It blooms specifically in early to mid summer and the light is unmatched. We wade through the thigh length flowers that are scattered across the grass, picking treasures for the basket.
It's only a short walk away from Clapham Common Underground Station and near to many delicious cafes and coffee shops.
FAMILY OUTDOOR PHOTOSHOOTS
My London family photoshoots are available as either indoor or outdoor photoshoots. It is a perfect opportunity for capturing your family in all its gorgeously interweaved parts. It will be child focused, relaxed and full of laughter whilst also leaving time for those quiet moments of intimacy.
The photoshoots will last around 1 hour. I run the photoshoots all year round, each season offering a different glow of colour. Together we will pick a location (I have plenty to suggest, the above being just a few examples) and meet at the chosen spot. We will then spend some time exploring, running, giggling, rolling around and taking it all in whilst I photograph it all. I will allow for truly candid moments and also offer direction when I see the potential for a perfect photograph. It will feel relaxed and fun, and that will be visible in the images I create of all those special moments.
MATERNITY OUTDOOR PHOTOSHOOTS
My London maternity photoshoots are available as either indoor or outdoor photoshoots also. Whilst some prefer the privacy and comfort of their home, others relish the idea of stepping back out into nature in order to capture one of the most natural and powerful moments of your life. If this is you, it's the perfect opportunity for making some magic. We'll use the immense beauty of the outdoor world to simply provide a platform on which your own beauty can shine. I'll talk you through various locations that might be appropriate and we'll step barefoot into the world to celebrate you.
We will use the 1 hour to capture a beautiful gallery of portraits of yourself, as well as your partner and other children should you wish. We'll hone in on the precious details, and then step backwards for the gorgeous wide shots also.
The best time to schedule your maternity photoshoot for is between 28-36 weeks. I advise booking in for this as early as you can, as it avoids disappointment if the dates become unavailable. Booking early secures your date and also gives you something to look forward to on your journey.
